Four brothers, one ride

We grew up on bicycles in Kimana. Now we use them to open the road to school, health and work for the children and families we grew up with.

Our story

Why we started

In sparsely populated Kajiado South, school can be a long walk away over hard terrain. Children miss days or drop out, and lower achievement passes poverty from one generation to the next.

We know the difference a bicycle makes because it made it for us. United by brotherhood and a belief in the power of movement, we set up Wheels for Good Foundation to put that freedom in the hands of the next generation.

We started with the most direct need: getting children to school. From there, cycling became a way to bring people together, protect the land we live on and create work for young people and women.

Where we work

Kimana, Loitokitok

We are based in Kimana, in Loitokitok, Kajiado South, near the Kenya–Tanzania border. Our programmes serve students and families in the surrounding rural communities, where long distances shape who gets to school and who gets to work.
